COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This one day interactive workshop is suitable for professionals working with adults who have cognitive, emotional or insight problems following brain injury.

The course establishes a solid foundation in understanding brain injury, cognitive & behaviour problems, and insight following brain injury. It also provides suggestions of what to do about these problems.



AIMS:

  • To develop skills and knowledge about brain injury
  • To develop skills and knowledge about cognitive rehabilitation
  • To develop skills and knowledge about behaviour problems
  • To develop skills and knowledge about insight

What is cognition? Overview of Attention and Information Processing; Treating cognitive issues

Anxiety, Emotional lability, Depression, Anger, Irritability, Aggression, Impulsivity, Disinhibition, Inflexibility, Obsessive behaviour, Self centredness, Insight, Awareness, Disorders of Arousal, Drive and Motivation; How to treat behaviour problems
